Big data is the term for a collection of data sets so large and complex that it becomes difficult to process using on-hand database management tools or traditional data processing applications. The challenges include capture, curation, storage, search, sharing, transfer, analysis and visualization.

The trend to larger data sets is due to the additional information derivable from analysis of a single large set of related data, as compared to separate smaller sets with the same total amount of data, allowing correlations to be found to “spot business trends, determine quality of research, assess energy consumption patterns, and identify errors and faults.

Monitoring & Reporting

NuGreen can provide sub-metering and energy metering systems that have the ability to continuously monitor the energy consumption associated with a site. The technology platform comprises of micro current transformers installed on circuits and sub meters which are used to monitor energy consumption, using newly developed din rail mounted energy monitoring units.

Ease of Installation and Integration:

These units are wholly Australian made and able to be installed at the sub-circuit level using micro current transformers which avoids the need to perform any distribution board modifications. The energy monitoring units connect to an internet access portal unit which allows direct internet access to the energy consumption data.

Energy monitoring units will be installed into small enclosures which will be mounted adjacent to each distribution board.

Monitor Real Time:

The distinct advantage that this monitoring system can offer is the ability to install the system without any changes to the existing distribution boards. This is a significant advantage in any retrofit project as it enables the accurate reading of energy consumption without the additional cost that incurred by distribution board changes.

Clients are able to monitor energy consumption associated with the change to energy for the buildings via the internet – on a web based interface on a real time basis. This will then allow the identification of trends and areas of the buildings that are consuming the most energy. The system has parameters that can be set to facilitate email notifications at variable intervals along with the graphical dashboard display, which allows records and all the data to be downloaded from the web page.


This system has been developed specifically for retrofit projects such as proposed lighting upgrades. NuGreen can install a trial unit immediately upon engagement to demonstrate the system functionality.
